Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with over 5 years of experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong AutoCAD and REVIT skills and have a good grasp of NYC, NY State, and International Building Codes. PE License and LEED Certification are considered valuable assets. This full-time, in-office role involves working closely with clients, handling all phases of design, and supporting junior engineers.
Responsibilities
Complete all phases of design from schematic through construction administration.
Meet with clients to develop project scope and ensure alignment with requirements.
Conduct surveys of existing building conditions to assess needs.
Prepare detailed reports and specifications for project documentation.
Prepare drawings and specifications according to project requirements.
Handle NYC filing requirements and procedures.
Ensure effective coordination between architectural and engineering disciplines.
Provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
Participate in inter-departmental meetings to allocate resources effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of NYC, NY State, and International Building Codes; NFPA.
- Certifications: PE License and LEED Certification are a plus.
- Skills: Strong AutoCAD and REVIT skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Field Experience: Experience in fieldwork is preferred.
