Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC, Plumbing/FP) with 5-10 years of experience to join our team in Bedminster, NJ. In this full-time, in-office role, you will lead mechanical design efforts, including HVAC and plumbing, for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, relevant codes, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems on large-scale projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors to ensure a successful project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Review and approve design documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site visits to verify system installations and ensure compliance with design intent.
- Prepare load calculations, system layouts, and equipment specifications.
- Ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Manage project timelines and budgets to meet client expectations.
- Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements and design solutions.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, design principles, and applicable codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and other relevant design software.
- Excellent project management skills, including managing timelines and budgets.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with clients and team members.
- PE License is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
